Visualise a Smart City
If you have an idea, a business or just a desire to make Sydney and our other great cities more sustainable, liveable, and basically intelligent you can’t afford to miss this.
You will get an exclusive opportunity to connect to smart city VIPs — across transport, planning, environment, and government. Help us join the dots in creating a healthy, living and breathing, clever and connected metropolis!
Data61 (NICTA) is running ‘Smart Cities for Startups’. This will be a networking event where problem owners, subject matter experts and startups can give quick ‘shout outs’ about their issues/opportunities and connect collaboratively exploring ways technology can improve our cities.
With our big cities set to double in size by 2050 and transport and other infrastructure struggling to cope we are calling for creative minds to help us improve how our cities work. The event is envisaged as the ‘getting to know you’ phase of a co-innovation process. The goals are to identify and match opportunity to innovators and plan for a follow up event in early December. The latter could be in the form of a hackathon.
Data61 has invited and will be featuring innovators across the urban design and transport sectors – companies like Arup plus all levels of government including NSW Department of Industry, Transport for NSW, NSW Department of Planning and Environment, NSW Roads and Maritime Services and thought leaders like the Committee for Sydney, MarcoPlan Dimasi and UrbanGrowth NSW.
