Create new opportunities – APPLY for the MDCTP!


The MDCTP is a 3-month medical devices commercialisation training program funded by NSW Office for Health and Medical Research to increase the commercialisation of capability medical device research in order to promote better health outcomes and new career opportunities in Australia.

Professor Paul Keall participated in MDCTP 2014, he is the author of more than 10 US patents and has previously taught at Stanford University – Since completing the program his company Respiratory Innovations has hired their first CEO and received $588,475 from the NHMRC grant for their biofeedback device Breathewell to assist cancer patients to breathe predictably while undergoing radiotherapy.

“For me, it really addressed many of the gaps in knowledge transitioning a successful academic research project into a product that can be commercialised” – Professor Paul Keall, NHMRC Australian Fellow and Director of Radiation Physics at the University of Sydney.
